في ظل التدهور الشديد الذي يشهده القطاع الصحي في اليمن، وتحديدًا في عدن، تبرز منظمة "أطباء بلا حدود" كواحدة من الجهات القليلة التي تقدم خدمات طبية عالية الجودة بشكل مجاني للآلاف من المرضى والمصابين. هذا المستشفى الجراحي التابع للمنظمة ليس مجرد مبنى أو مجموعة من المعدات الطبية، بل هو ملاذ لضحايا الحوادث والعنف، وأمل للعديد من الأسر التي تعجز عن تحمل تكاليف العلاج في المستشفيات الخاصة أو حتى الحكومية.

منذ عام 2012، قدم المستشفى الجراحي التابع لأطباء بلا حدود خدماته لآلاف المرضى، مستقبلاً حالات الطوارئ الحرجة من الإصابات البالغة الناتجة عن الحروب والحوادث إلى العلاج من الرصاص والشظايا. 
ومع تدهور الوضع الاقتصادي في اليمن، وانخفاض قيمة الريال اليمني أمام الدولار، وارتفاع الأسعار الجنوني، أصبح هذا المستشفى الخيار الوحيد للعديد من المواطنين البسطاء الذين لا يملكون المال الكافي للعلاج.

لكن اليوم، وفي وقت يحتاج فيه اليمن إلى كل مساعدة ممكنة، قررت منظمة "أطباء بلا حدود" إنهاء مشروعها الجراحي في عدن وتسليم المستشفى إلى الحكومة. 
هذا القرار، إذا تم تنفيذه دون وجود بديل فعّال، سيؤدي إلى كارثة صحية وإنسانية في عدن والمحافظات المجاورة مثل لحج، وأبين، وتعز، التي تعتمد بشكل كبير على خدمات هذا المستشفى في حالات الطوارئ.

إذا لم تتخذ الجهات المعنية إجراءات سريعة وفعالة، فإن العواقب ستكون وخيمة على المواطنين في عدن والمحافظات المجاورة فالوضع الأمني والاقتصادي الهش يجعل من الصعب توفير بدائل بسرعة، وهذا يعني أن كل يوم يمضي بدون حل يزيد من معاناة الناس ويضع حياتهم في خطر. إغلاق المستشفى دون إيجاد بديل مناسب سيؤدي إلى تدهور الحالة الصحية العامة، وزيادة عدد الوفيات، وتفاقم أزمة الثقة بين المواطنين والحكومة.

المستشفى الجراحي التابع لمنظمة "أطباء بلا حدود" ليس مجرد مركز طبي، بل هو رمز للأمل والرحمة في منطقة تعاني من الفقر والصراعات ،وإن استمراره في العمل يعني استمرار الحياة لآلاف المرضى الذين لا يملكون خيارًا آخر. 
وفي حال إغلاقه، سيكون ذلك بمثابة طعنة في قلب الجهود الإنسانية الدولية والمحلية التي تسعى جاهدة لتخفيف معاناة اليمنيين.

إننا نتوجه بنداء عاجل إلى منظمة "أطباء بلا حدود" لمراجعة هذا القرار الخطير. نطالب المنظمة بمراعاة الوضع الإنساني الحرج في جنوب اليمن، والنظر في إمكانية الاستمرار بتقديم خدماتها أو على الأقل ضمان انتقال سلس للمهام إلى جهة قادرة على تقديم نفس مستوى الرعاية. 
وفي هذا السياق، تتحمل وزارة الصحة في عدن مسؤولية كبيرة في ضمان استمرار تقديم الخدمات الصحية للمواطنين ويجب على الوزارة التحرك فورًا لضمان عدم إغلاق المستشفى أو تركه دون تشغيل، سواء عبر إقناع المنظمة بالبقاء أو بالبحث عن منظمات دولية أخرى قادرة على ملء الفراغ.

إذا تم إغلاق المستشفى دون إيجاد بديل مناسب، فإن العواقب ستكون كارثية، بما في ذلك تدهور المعدات الطبية وسرقتها، مما يعني خسارة كبيرة للمجتمع اليمني بأكمله اي إن عدم التحرك السريع سيضع الحكومة اليمنية ووزارة الصحة في موقف حرج أمام المجتمعين الدولي والمحلي، وسيفاقم من أزمة الثقة بين المواطنين والسلطات.

وعليه، فإننا نكرر دعوتنا الملحة إلى منظمة "أطباء بلا حدود" للبقاء، وإلى وزارة الصحة اليمنية لتحمل مسؤوليتها الكاملة، ليس فقط تجاه المواطنين في عدن، بل تجاه كل من يعيشون في ظل هذه الظروف الصعبة في اليمن. 
إن الفشل في التحرك السريع والفاعل سيكون وصمة عار على ضمير الإنسانية، وسيبقى ذكرى مريرة للأجيال القادمة عن تقاعس المجتمع الدولي والمحلي عن دعم من هم في أمسّ الحاجة إلى المساعدة.

في الختام، نتوجه إلى كل من يملك القدرة على التأثير لاتخاذ القرار الصحيح الذي سينقذ آلاف الأرواح فالأوضاع الإنسانية في جنوب اليمن  لا تحتمل المزيد من التدهور، ويجب على الجميع تحمل مسؤولياتهم تجاه هذا البلد الجريح.

**Urgent Humanitarian Appeal: Saving Médecins Sans Frontières Hospital in Aden is a Collective Responsibility**

Amidst the severe deterioration of the healthcare sector in Yemen, particularly in Aden, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) stands out as one of the few organizations providing high-quality, free medical services to thousands of patients and the injured. This surgical hospital run by MSF is not merely a building or a collection of medical equipment; it is a refuge for victims of accidents and violence, and a beacon of hope for many families who cannot afford treatment in private or even public hospitals.

Since 2012, the MSF surgical hospital has provided services to thousands of patients, receiving critical emergency cases ranging from severe injuries caused by wars and accidents to treatment for gunshots and shrapnel wounds. With Yemen's deteriorating economic situation, the devaluation of the Yemeni rial against the dollar, and skyrocketing prices, this hospital has become the only option for many ordinary citizens who cannot afford the costs of treatment.

However, today, at a time when Yemen needs every possible form of assistance, Médecins Sans Frontières has decided to end its surgical project in Aden and hand over the hospital to the government. If this decision is implemented without an effective alternative in place, it will lead to a health and humanitarian disaster in Aden and neighboring provinces such as Lahj, Abyan, and Taiz, which heavily rely on this hospital's emergency services.

If the relevant authorities do not take swift and effective action, the consequences will be dire for the citizens of Aden and the surrounding provinces. The fragile security and economic situation makes it difficult to provide alternatives quickly, which means that every day without a solution increases people's suffering and puts lives at risk. Closing the hospital without finding a suitable alternative will lead to the deterioration of public health, an increase in the death toll, and a deepening crisis of trust between citizens and the government.

The MSF surgical hospital is not just a medical facility; it is a symbol of hope and compassion in a region plagued by poverty and conflict. Its continued operation means the survival of thousands of patients who have no other options. If it closes, it will be a blow to the heart of both international and local humanitarian efforts that strive tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.

We urgently appeal to Médecins Sans Frontières to reconsider this grave decision. We urge the organization to take into account the critical humanitarian situation in southern Yemen, and to explore the possibility of continuing its services or, at the very least, ensuring a smooth transition of duties to an entity capable of providing the same level of care. In this context, the Ministry of Health in Aden bears a significant responsibility to ensure the continuous provision of healthcare services to citizens. The ministry must act immediately to prevent the hospital from closing or being left non-operational, whether by convincing the organization to stay or by seeking out other international organizations capable of filling the gap.

If the hospital is closed without finding an appropriate alternative, the consequences will be catastrophic, including the deterioration of medical equipment and its potential theft, which would mean a great loss to the entire Yemeni community. Failure to act quickly will place the Yemeni government and the Ministry of Health in a critical position before both the international and local communities, and will exacerbate the crisis of trust between citizens and authorities.

Therefore, we reiterate our urgent call to Médecins Sans Frontières to stay, and to the Yemeni Ministry of Health to take full responsibility, not only towards the citizens in Aden but towards everyone living under these difficult circumstances in Yemen. Failure to act swiftly and effectively will be a stain on the conscience of humanity, and will remain a bitter memory for future generations of the international and local community's failure to support those most in need.

In conclusion, we call on everyone with the ability to influence to make the right decision that will save thousands of lives. The humanitarian situation in Yemen cannot withstand further deterioration, and everyone must shoulder their responsibilities towards this wounded country.
